Hypocrites in the Church
A hog farmer refused to have anything to do with the church because he said a bunch of hypocrites belonged to it.
The pastor of the church went to buy a hod from him. After looking over the entire swine herd, the pastor pointed to a scrawny, sickly little runt and said, “I want that one.”
“Why, preacher, you don’t want that one. He’s the scrawniest pig I ever saw. Take one of these fines ones over here.”
“I want that runt,” said the pastor.
After the purchase the pastor said, “I’m going to haul this pig all over the country and tell everybody this is the kind of hogs you raise.”
“Preacher, that’s not fair. I raise fine hogs. An occasional runt doesn’t ruin my whole stock,” said the farmer.
“I'm only following your example of condemning the whole church because of the stunted spirituality of some of its members,” explained the pastor.
The farmer got the point.
