"...The church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth."
I Timothy 3:15
Dennis Dills
With our nation as far away from God as it is, we need the men of God to preach like they never have before. It seems it is hard to find real preachers who are not afraid to preach what thus saith the Lord. They are afraid that they will lose their salaries or maybe part of their congregation.
The fact is, God has given the man of God the command to preach the Word of God. It matters not what man thinks, but what God says.
"Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD. Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth." (Jeremiah 1:8,9)
God chose through the foolishness of preaching to save men and women. Not only did He choose preaching to convict the lost in sin, but He uses the preaching of the Word to instruct the saints. Without strong preaching man will go on and on in sin getting further and further from God.
Our homes in America are falling apart. It seems every time three couples are standing at the marriage altars to be married, two couples are across town in the divorce courts. We need preaching.
Human life has lost its value. Millions of babies have been aborted. Abortion clinics have become legalized murder centers. We need preaching.
Lives are being destroyed by alcohol and drugs while we are sitting by wondering what to do. We need preaching.
Our churches are getting colder and colder. Our preachers are getting milder and milder. We need preaching.
We need some old fashioned men of God who will declare the whole counsel of the Word of God. Men like John the Baptist would not be popular but they would help our ungodly living.
It is a time now when you cannot tell the Church from the world or the world from the Church. Oh, how we need preaching.
Our younger generations will not experience real Christianity unless we get back to the Word of God. We are responsible for the outcome of their spiritual lives.
God, give us some men of God who will not compromise the Word of God, but will preach to men as they are fearing no one but God.
