Prophecy and Fulfillment

There are many prophecies, most given between 800 and 400 years before they were fulfilled.

Below is a partial listing:




(Gen 3:15 KJV) And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

Seed of the woman

(Gal 4:4 KJV) But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,


(Isa 7:14 KJV) Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Born of a virgin

(Mat 1:18 KJV) Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

(Mat 1:1 KJV) The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.


(Gen 21:12 KJV) And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.

Zealous for God

(John 2:15 KJV) And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables;

The following 29 prophecies, dealing with the 24 hour period culminating in the burial of Christ, were all literally fulfilled:




(Psa 41:9 KJV) Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.

(Psa 55:12 KJV) For it was not an enemy that reproached me; then I could have borne it: neither was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me; then I would have hid myself from him:

(Psa 55:13 KJV) But it was thou, a man mine equal, my guide, and mine acquaintance.

(Psa 55:14 KJV) We took sweet counsel together, and walked unto the house of God in company.

Betrayed by a friend

(Mat 10:4 KJV) Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

(John 13:18 KJV) I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me.


(Zec 11:12 KJV) And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.

(Mat 26:15 KJV) And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.


(Zec 11:13 KJV) And the LORD said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the LORD.

Resurrect ion of Christ

(Mat 28:6 KJV) He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

(Acts 2:31 KJV) He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.


(Psa 68:18 KJV) Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them.
